We Hear You West Bend
The City of West Bend, in partnership with the West Bend Joint School District, UW-Washington County and Moraine Park Technical College are asking for your help to vote for “West Bend” in the Reader’s Digest, “We Hear You America” campaign. Join the many communities throughout the nation who are registering at the Reader’s Digest website to promote their city. A total of 18 prizes will be awarded to nominated cities in the form of a donation from Reader’s Digest in support of their community initiatives. The first place prize is $50,000. In 2011, the City of West Bend received a $1,000 donation from Reader’s Digest, so let’s make it happen again in 2012. Go to: www.ReadersDigest.com/America and follow the online instructions to register and then start voting. You can vote every minute of every day … there is no limit! All entries must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on March 1, 2012.

| A job well done by West Bend West students on the ACT test this year. 181 students from the West graduating class of 2011 took the exam. West Bend West students exceeded the state and national benchmarks.

| Are West Bend West students ready for College Level Coursework? According to the results of the ACT testing, 2011 graduates are ready and exceeded the state and national averages. This chart show the percentage of students that are ready for college-level coursework and will have a 50% chance of receiving a B or higher and a 75% chance of obtaining a C or higher in their courses.

West Bend West High School was recognized in the 2011 Washington Post High School Challenge List as one of the best high schools in the nation. West High School was ranked number 1148 out of 1905 high schools recognized nationally and number 12 out of 29 public high schools in Wisconsin. |
